Is it possible in asyncio (python 3.6) to have one running function in forever loop e.g. video streaming in repeat mode, and other function scheduled for let's say every 10 minutes to check something and then restarts first function if necessary? But this scheduled function should not block or pause player.
Here is code example of described situation. Is asyncio way to go or is better to use multi-threading?
async def scheduled_task():
# do something...
await asyncio.sleep(delay)
async def player_task():
# player initializaion...
player.play() # scheduled task should stop it
async def main():
loop = asyncio.get_event_loop()
tasks = []
tasks.append(loop.run_in_executor(None, player_task))
tasks.append(loop.run_in_executor(None, scheduled_task))
await asyncio.gather(*tasks)
if __name__ == "__main__":
loop = asyncio.get_event_loop()
loop.run_until_complete(main())
loop.close()
