http - How to add server support for resuming a download?

Question

I am trying to add the download resume functionality to our server after a network interruption but not sure how to do that. I know that it needs to support range but how does the browser resume it from for the leftover data. I do not see it sending a separate request with any range. I have aded the request and response headers
