box api - Box cli or curl for automated upload of files

Question

I am planning to use box cli or curl for uploading files to box. I am unable to understand the exact steps required. For example, one of my requirements is not to redirect the user to box for interactive logon.

I understand, I have to create a custom box app for this purpose. I did so and created a custom box app with server side jwt authentication and with 'App Access Only' setting.

curl -i -X POST "https://api.box.com/2.0/folders" ^
     -H "Authorization: Bearer <my developer token>" ^
     -H "Content-Type: application/json" ^
     -d "{"name": "New Folder", "parent": {"id": "0"}}"

I get error

"status":403,"code":"access_denied_insufficient_permissions"

I don't understand enough about box and would like to know how to proceed in this matter. Any references will be really helpful
