nginx - exclude text/html from addition_types

Question

I'm trying to add a code snippet to all and only the application/javascript files. Is there a way to prevent adding it to text/html files also?

No matter what values I put in addition_types, add_before_body always applies to all text/html documents.

I've tried addition_types application/javascript, addition_types '' application/javascript, and even addition_types '', but no matter what values I put addition_types, it always will apply to all text/html files.
