For my work, I maintain our spatial databases and update spatial layers as projects update. For example, one layer I am updating shows the specific stream segments that have specific water quality criteria by state regulation. A few of the older layers I work with are based off the Medium Resolution National Hydrography Dataset (i.e., the layer is stream features extracted from the Medium Res NHD and the attribute data modified for our purposes). Ultimately, we would like to upgrade these layers to the more accurate High Resolution NHD.
I'm unaware of a workflow that would be both accurate and efficient. I have a solid foundation of GIS, but that's only two semesters of coursework and about two years of experience. I'm familiar with built in toolsets and functions, but don't have experience with Python or Model Builder.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Josh
